Black Diamond Tents was started to fund an eighteen year old's climbing addiction in his backyard in 1957, this gentleman was called Yvon. In the workshop he started making pitons and then driving hundreds of miles selling them out of the back of his car.

Being durable and good performance it's no surprise that they rapidly became the industry standard. If you enjoy the outdoors and are wanting exceptional value for money and quality then Black Diamond is for you, Now being a global company many people think the same.

The Black Diamond Tents offer a great range of tents which are all very light weight and strong. It doesn't matter if you are a professional mountaineer or its a family weekend break. I think of two things when choosing my Black Diamond Tents, one how easy is it to put up and two how heavy is it. I treasure these two things personally as i have been caught out before, got to the pitching site to late, blizzard raging around me in the dead of night, can i get my tent up easy no i can't. I'm cold and had enough......

There are two weather categories for Black Diamond Tents:

3-Season: This is moderate conditions, including light gusts of winds and light rain

4-Season: This is good resistance to torrential rain, heavy snowfall and high winds.

There are 2 main styles of tents:

DoubleLight Series: This design incorporates a double walled skin made from mesh/nylon. It also boasts of the fast pitch hub that makes the tent more solid and secure.

Superlight series: Have been made from a single layer of incredibly water-resistance breathable fabric, better known as NanoShield. Thanks to this and another addition of silicone Nanocell coating, it's an incredible fabric that allows the tent to be impressively strong and tear resistant, while keeping all the attributes of being soft and super light, brilliant for packing small and carrying.

Dome tents are the most popular in the Black Diamond Tents range as they offer the most stability and maximise the storage and sleeping capacity. Black Diamond also provide.

Tarp shelters: These weigh only 4lb and are the traditional ridge style of tent that comes with no poles as you use the Black Diamond trekking and ski poles.

Bivy Bags: This is a 4-season tent for one person they are made with a fabric called Toddtex, which is a very breathable and waterproof material, very similar to gore-tex.

I hope you agree that Black Diamond Tents are truly great quality and value for money, you can see on my other pages the certain models in depth. Let your next mountaineering trip be one with a tent from the Black Diamond Tents range.
